Palo Alto AWIS Membership
Women, men, scientists in industry and academia, professionials, teachers, students, and any who wish to support and promote women in science are invited to join AWIS.
Benefits of membership include:
- Networking opportunities online through National AWIS, online through our LinkedIn Group, in person at our meetings
- Attend our monthly meetings at a discounted rate,
- subscription to the quarterly National AWIS Magazine,
- opportunities to participate in AWIS leadership conferences and national meetings, and access to the AWIS Registry, a multidiscliplinary database of women in science and technology to assist in job searches, media inquiries, speaker invitations, review committees, and government appointments.
- Develop leadership skills to advance your career. You must be a member to be on the board which gives you unique acess to members for networking
- Meet and work with distinguished women in science
- Nominate your mentors for our annual awards: get visibility among the group and a festive excuse to contact these mentors
- Project a voice with impact on national issues like science education
- Get your CV some attention: with over 100 local current members you hever know if a fellow member will be reviewing your application
How to Join
There are three easy ways to become a Palo Alto AWIS member:
- Go to www.awis.org and click "join AWIS". Click on your level of support for example "Student: $25.00 Annual Membership Fee". Fill out the online form, select your National Membership and California Chapter Membership categories, and submit.
- Join us at our next event or meeting and talk to the membership committee. We will be happy to give you membership information and an application; just look for the membership table.
